Rosalie Vincent Miller

Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, Lafayette, LA, honoring the life of Rosalie Vincent Miller, 81, who died Friday, April 29, 2016 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home.

She will be laid to rest at St. John Cemetery with Reverend David Broussard officiating the services.

Rosalie loved people and everyone loved her. Her sweet gentle inquisitive nature warmed the heart of everyone who knew her.

Rosalie had a great appreciation for people's personal stories always seeing good and encouraging others with her faith.

Rosalie was a woman with fine taste. She adored elegant homemaking, fashion, and animals; especially her pets. She had a keen eye for quality, detail and beauty; enjoying cooking, sewing and painting.

She was born into a large loving family to whom she remained very close.

Graduating high school at Port Neches Groves High School in Texas. An avid student and reader, she continued her education at Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, Austin Community College and University of Texas in Austin, TX and University of Southwest Louisiana in Lafayette, LA.

She was loved and treated as a grandmother by the wonderful staff at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home, leaving her family forever grateful.

She is survived by her three children, Anthony D. Miller and his wife Patricia of Flower Mound, TX, Delaine Miller Sweat of Groves, TX, and Debra Harrington and her husband Douglas, Sr. of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Dylan Benoit of Groves, TX, Alex Sweat of Groves, TX, Brandy Vallo and her husband Scott of Gueydan, Christian Broussard and her husband Michael of Gueydan, and Douglas Harrington, Jr. and his wife Katie of Gueydan; and eight great grandchildren, Remmington, Gabriel, Lane, Liam, Gracie, Anthony, Sarah and Owen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Olear Vincent and the former Lilly Mary Boudreaux; husband, Larry O. Miller; brothers, Harold Vincent and Warner Vincent; and grandson, Ryan Sweat.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m.; Monday, May 2, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. when the procession will depart for the church.

The family wishes to extend a special appreciation to the staff of the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Ray, Deacon Billy and Melissa Vincent, Father David Broussard, Father Corey Campeaux, and Heart of Hospice for the excellent and compassionate care they provided to their mother.
