Maude (Sansing) Ward, age 98, passed away Thursday April 28, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Clinton, TN.

She was born in Spindale, NC to James David Sansing and Maggie Florence (Griffin) Sansing. She grew up primarily in North Carolina and Georgia. While in North Carolina, she married James J. Ward.

During the war they moved to Oak Ridge, TN. They then moved to the Claxton community in Anderson County TN, where she spent most of her life, and the last several years she has resided in the Heiskell, TN.

Maude was a member of Edgemoor Baptist Church in the Claxton community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, 15 brothers and sisters, her husband James J. Ward, her daughter Patricia Thaile (Ward) Goben, and several nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, May 2, 2016 with a 2:00pm funeral service to follow at Woodhaven Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 160 Edgemoor Rd, Powell, TN 37849, with Herb Goben conducting.
