She was a 1950 graduate of Middletown High School and attended Western Maryland College. She had a 38 year career at Sears Roebuck bookkeeping offices located in downtown Frederick, the Montgomery Mall, and Shady Grove. During her career, she continued to help on the family farm assisting her widowed father. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church Zion where she attended Zion Daughters Sunday School Class. She was a valued member of the Middletown Historical Society, serving as treasurer for many years. She took care of the Historical Society's vegetable garden.
She is survived by one sister, Sue Wilkening Garnder.
She was preceded in death by brother, Meredith Boyer; brother, Rev. Carroll L. Boyer; sister, Fonda Randall.
A celebration of her life was held at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown.
