Ms. Carole Long, 65, of Martin passed away 3:25 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Carole was born April 11, 1951, in Jackson, Michigan, daughter of the late James Issac Mattis and Geneva Tennessee (Darnell) Mattis Town.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Brad Walker of Martin, Gina and Darrin Dickerson of South Fulton, J.J. and David Cheney of Union City and Amanda and Nicky Avant of Martin; one son, Clarence Nelson, III of Jackson, Michigan; one brother, Gary Mattis of Jackson, Michigan; twenty three grandchildren, Geneva "Jenny" Morris, Travis Morris, Linda Dickerson and DeAndrea Walker all of South Fulton, Chris Courtney, Jr., Gevin Courtney, LaStacia Courtney, Laklynn Noonan, Lyric Noonan, Nicholas Avant and Nyal Avant all of Martin, Sammy Morris, Jr., Joseph Nelson, Amber Cheney, James (Kandace) Cheney, Zach Cheney and Caleb Cheney all of Union City, Branden Walker, Braelyn Walker, Brennen Walker, and Zhey Avant all of Fulton, Kentucky, Darrin Dickerson II of Mayfield, Kentucky, Brad Walker, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, and Nicky Avant, Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky; and four great grandchildren, Kaiden Morris of Clinton, Kyson Morris of Clinton, Aubree Walker of Louisville and Za’Marri Dickerson of Murray.
