Ms. Sue Jackson Hardy, 82, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.

Ms. Hardy was born June 27, 1927 in Surry County to the late Randall Hobart and Lena Matthews Jackson.

She retired from the North Carolina School System and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Airy.

Ms. Hardy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Jimmie Scott of Claudville, VA; two grandchildren, John Ewell Scott and his wife, Kayla, and Lena Catherine Scott; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Ray Scott and Lakinzie Scott; and a special friend, Jack Hardy.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Hardy was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Jackson Christian; and a brother, Randall Matthew Jackson.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Steve Lindsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church, 326 South Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030, or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
