Augustus P. Kern, 78, of Cranston, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Theresa A. (Spicuzza) Kern for fifty-five years.
Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Augustus F. and Anna (Sullivan) Kern.
He was a graduate of LaSalle Academy.
He was a retired Sergeant with the US Army with 10 years of devoted service.
After his service in the Army, he worked for Typesetting Service Corporation.
He was a communicant of St. Mark Church, Cranston.
Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters and their husbands, Suzanne and John Olerio, Nancy and Robert Spetrini, Sally and Kevin Deangelis and Terri and John Soucy all of North Kingstown; a sister Nancy Reilly of Florida; and nine grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Mary Cronan, Eileen Pullan, Joseph and Jean Kern.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 20, at 11 am in St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown.
