Deacon George McKinley Latham, Sr was born January 19, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio to Lowell Sr and Willie Latham. At age 65, he went home to be with his Heavenly Father Sunday, December 5, 2010 at his residence.

A lifetime member of Hosack Street Baptist Church where he was Chairman of the Deacon Board, member of the male chorus and treasurer, member of Hosack United Brothers (HUB,) and a Sunday school teacher.

He was a graduate of Ohio State University with a B.A. in Business Administration. He was employed at H&R block as a manager for nineteen years. He served in the U.S.M.C. He was feature in Jet magazine as the first Black Insurance agents for Atlanta Life Insurance Company.

Preceded in death by his parents Lowell C. Sr, and Willie F. Latham; sister Bessie Carol; mother-in-law Janice Rogers; step-son, Rahsaan Rogers.

George is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Brenda (Rogers) Latham; children, Gina (Tony) Preston, Felecia Powell, Carlos (Latoya) Davis, George I and George II Latham; step-son, Doneric Rogers and Sherman Sydnor; sisters, Minnie Finney, Elizabeth (Floyd) Waddell, Freda (Charles) Harris, brothers, Clifton (Beverly) Latham, Lowell, Jr., Carl, Tommy, Howard Latham; aunt, Marie Harper; brother-in-law, Eric Rogers; and special friend, Don A. Clark; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson and host of nieces nephew.
