He attended school in St. Lawrence, graduating from SLHS in 1920. He Received his BA degree in 1925 from Dakota Wesleyan, Mitchell, SD, and his MA from Colorado State College in 1935.
He married Lila Marie (Banning), July 21, 1926 in St. Lawrence. She was the daughter of Charles Herbert and Grace Anna (Weiland) Banning of Hand Co., SD.
Charles and Lila were parents of two sons, Charles H. and Duane E.
Charles retired in 1964 from Payroll bookkeeper. He died May 9, 1983 in King, Co., Washington.
