Alice de Gaunt was the daughter of Walter de Gaunt, 2nd Baron of Folkingham (1080-1138) and Mahaut de Bretagne (1092-1135). She married Roger de Mowbray, 4th Baron of Thirsk, 2nd Baron of Mowbray (1127-1188) and had 2 children by that marriage.Soon after his release, Roger married Alice de Gaunt (d. c. 1181), daughter of Walter de Gant and widow of Ilbert de Lacy, and by whom he had two sons, Nigel and Robert.
