Bettye Jane Shuler

Sweetwater - Bettye Jane Shuler, 72, lifelong resident of Sweetwater and Roscoe, died Tuesday in a Lubbock hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Lamar Street Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.

Mrs. Shuler was born in Roscoe and married Ernest Shuler in 1941 in Dunn. She worked as a dental assistant at Dr. James Pace's office for 12 years and taught Sunday school at Lamar Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of Sweetwater; two sons, Gene Shuler of Lubbock and Harvey Shuler of Midland; one daughter, Sandy Shuler of Lubbock; four brothers, Lee Walton of Odessa, H. L. Walton and Wayne Walton both of Abilene and Jimmy Walton of Sweetwater; two sisters, Ada Sanders of Sweetwater and Louise Walton of Atlanta; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday in the funeral home.
