Born Abraham Lipschutz. A veteran radio and TV comedy writer, Lipscott started his career as an agent in New York, writing special material for his clients and later wrote full time for comedy shows featuring Jimmy Durante and Danny Thomas. A week before his death, Lipscott and his partner had sold a story "Hooray For Love" which was slated to start production in December of 1961 in Seattle. At Lipscott's request, there were no funeral services and he donated his eyes to an eye bank.
