Survivors include two daughters, Nora Lynch and Mary Courville and her husband, Art; three sons, Semmes Lynch and his wife, Kathy, Charles "Dick" Lynch and his wife, Margaret and Mike Lynch; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John J. Lynch; her parents, Raphael Semmes and Mary Zoe Cessac Sagrera; one grandson, Darrin Lynch; one daughter, Laelia Ann Lynch; one great grandson, A.J. Faulk and five brothers and sisters.
A longtime resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Lynch was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She owned and managed Orchid Gardens for over 55 years. Mrs. Lynch wrote a complete book on her life growing up in Cheniere Au Tigre and continued her husband's life’s work raising ducks and geese. She was a conservationalist and was a supporter of the rehabilitation of wildlife, protecting Louisiana's Coastline as well as the re-establishment of the Whooping Cranes in Louisiana. Mrs. Lynch was a member of the St. Genevieve Catholic Church Community, a member of the Catholic Daughters, Women's Club of Lafayette, Lafayette Garden Club and numerous organizations. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
