Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Michael "Mike" Hebert, 71, who passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mike enjoyed cooking and entertaining his family and friends - most of the time you would find him in his outdoor kitchen. Mike never met a stranger and he would talk to anyone he came across. He will be remembered as a "one-of-a-kind" and a “happy-go-lucky” person. Mike had a huge heart and loved to help people; he was the backbone of his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his life partner of 39 years, Gereline "Geri" Frederick of Breaux Bridge; sons, Gregory Hebert, Sr. and wife Rita of Breaux Bridge, Michael James Hebert, II of Breaux Bridge, Kelly Hebert and wife Tracy of Breaux Bridge, and Danny Hebert and wife Terri of Montgomery, LA; daughters, Leslie Rebert and husband Oswald Sr. of Breaux Bridge, and Shannon "Michelle" Jean and husband Brent of The Woodlands, TX; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Barbara Ann Oglesby of Breaux Bridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theobold "Bolo" and Aldus Hebert; brother, Donna Dieu "DeeDee" Hebert; and nephew, Karl Hebert.
