Milton was born with his last name as Linn and sometime in the few years following his birth his family name was changed to Lynn. However, I have seen a couple records of his which still had the "Linn" spelling. He enlisted as a Seaman's Apprentice being first promoted to Seaman 2C then to Seaman 1C. Also serving as Crew Messman and Signalman Striker apparently for a day. Serving from August 1927-October 1930. He worked for the Western Maryland Railroad first in Hagerstown and then in Baltimore when he moved his family to Baltimore. First as Fireman then going on to Engineer.
