They emigrated from Norway in 1868 on the ship "Manila" from Christiania, Norway (now Oslo) on April 23rd and arrived in Quebec on June 19th. The Johnson Family settled in Green County Wisconsin. After 4 years they came to Buffalo county, Iowa taking a homestead. There were eight children to this union:
