Leonard William Payne

Leonard William Payne, 83, passed away on March 31, 2014, in Yuma, AZ. He was born to the late Lorenzo and Esther (Davisson) Payne on March 21, 1931, in Omak, WA. Leonard graduated from Okanogan High School in 1951, and went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. Leonard worked for and retired from Lakeside Industries in 1992, and began traveling each winter to Yuma with his partner in life of 22 years, Joanne Redmond.
Leonard is survived by his partner, Joanne; daughters, Celia Ann of San Diego, CA, and Elizabeth Ellen of Lacey, WA; two sisters, Aletha (Clyde) Green of Chelan, WA and Leona (Mel) Grover of Coeur d'Alene, ID; nieces, Resa (Kerry) Glessner, and Donella (Dale) Eaton; and nephew, Randy (Sue) Green. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Leonard William Jr. and Lorenzo Benjamin; as well as his wives, Jacolyn and Margaret; and many cousins and friends.
There will be a Celebration of Leonard's Life on Friday, July 18, 2014, at the Okanogan Grange Hall in Okanogan, WA at 11:30 a.m. There will be a gathering of family and friends, who will share memories of Leonard. Lunch will be provided.
