He was born June 24, 1928 in Granger, WA to Byron & Alice (LeFevre) Thompson. He graduated with honors from Granger High School. He worked 42 years for the Burlington Northern Railroad before retiring to care for his wife. He was an exceptional good provider for his family and he enjoyed playing the pipe organ.
Gene will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include four sons, Paul (Colette) Thompson of Orlando, FL, Duane Thompson of Chico, CA, David Thompson of Carnation, WA and Ron (Carol) Thompson of Salem, OR; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a brother Ivan Thompson of Selah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Linda Lee Thompson on March 9, 2003, a sister, Frances McCormick and a brother, George Thompson.
Graveside Service will be Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 2: 00 p.m. at the Zillah Cemetery. Those planning to attend should meet at the cemetery.
