Mrs. Melba Hackfeld, 76, of Loraine died Wednesday morning at a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2006, in the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home chapel with Royce Clay officiating.
Burial will follow in the Loraine Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006.
Mrs. Hackfeld was born to Oscar and Jenny Morris Hagood on June 26, 1929, in Mitchell County. She married Alfred Hackfeld in Nolan County on Feb. 22, 1949. He preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1989, after 39 years of marriage.
She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She has been a longtime resident of Mitchell County. She was a loving caregiver to many.
She is survived by her two sons, Keith Hackfeld and his wife, Jackie, of Snyder, and Stanley Hackfeld and his wife, DeLynn, of Loraine; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruby Parker and Ruth Light, both of Roscoe; and one brother, Wayne Hagood of Sweetwater.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Blanche Ince, and two brothers, Clyde Hagood and Howard Hagood.
