Alice died 1-4-1936 in Oswego, Kendall County, IL. Alice was a "pioneer resident of Oswego", she died at the age of 77 in Oswego at the home of her daughter Mrs. Sophie Woolley after a short illness. Aurora Beacon News Obituary She had been living in Marion, FL (US Census 1930). She is buried in Cowdrey Cemetery, alongside her husband Amos James Parkhurst, one of the founders of the cemetery, an extremely small, picturesqe cemetery, just east of the Fox River on Route 71 in Yorkville.
"Mrs. Alice Parkhurst, 77, died Saturday afternoon, January 4, at 5 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Allen Woolley. She was born in Ottawa, Mary 3, 1858 but has lived here since she was 12 years old. On December 25, 1877, she married Amos Parkhurst, who has preceded her in death five years ago. Mrs. Parkhurst is survived by two daughters, Sophie Woolley and Amy Smith, four sons; Clarence and Raymond of Oswego, Reuben, of Aurora, and A. J. Parkhurst of Greenville, South Carolina, twenty-three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
