Laura Mullen Ray, 89, of Madisonville, KY passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Heartford House in Owensboro, KY.
Laura was born May 6, 1926 in Logan County, KY to the late Arthur Mullen and Lottie Sutton Mullen. She was also preceded in death by Joseph Ray, her husband of 62 years, four brothers, Joe, George, Melvin and Herbert, and two sisters, Bessie and Minnie.
Mrs. Ray was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. She was active in the Earlington United Methodist Church, where she was involved in Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, United Methodist Women, special events, and held various church offices. She worked in the Head Start Program and worked in retail for years.
She is survived by two sons, John Ray of Madisonville, Alan, and wife, Karen, Ray of Owensboro, KY; two brothers, Nealy Mullen of Russellville KY, Karon, and his wife, Barbara, Mullen of Louisa, KY; grandchildren, Jon, Jenna, and Emily; and six great grandchildren, Colton, Baylie, Justice, Madison, Samantha, and Gracie.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery with Bro. Marty Martinez officiating with burial to follow.
