FOUND DEAD IN HIS BED

MEMBER OF OLD SPANISH FAMILY FIRES BULLET THROUGH BRAIN

Santa Monica, Aug. 11- A smothered pistol shot was heard about 12 o'clock in the fashionable quarter of the avenue last night, but the mystery was not cleared up until today, when the dead body of Alexander Bandini was found in bed at the family home on Oregon avenue, near Arizona. Bandini had taken his life by firing a pistol shot through his brain, but failed to awaken his palsied father or J. M. Bandini.

Bandini was 35 years old, the descendent of prominent Spanish ancestors, whose sons and daughters are today respected throughout Southern California. He has been a hard drinker for many years and had twice before attenoted suicide. A year and a half ago, while violently insane from drink, he was committed to an asylum.
