Born Lacy Ann Boyer on December 25, 1843 in Allegheny County, Penn., to Mary Ann Harger and William Rigdon Boyer.
She and her family moved to Illinois in 1857. She married James Oliver Dawson on February 2, 1862 at her parents' home. She and her husband owned a farm outside of La Harpe until they moved into the city of La Harpe about 1905. Her husband, who passed away in 1912, and one granddaughter preceded her in death. She was survived by her daughter, Eva Todd, of La Harpe, and son Lemoine P. Dawson, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and 11 grandchildren.
