Homer, LA; Funeral services will be held for Betty Peterson Frye, 67, at the First United Methodist Church of Homer on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Rev. R.B. Moore and Rev. Larry Maxwell, officiating. Interment will follow at the Homer Arlington cemetery. The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church, 501 West 3rd St., Homer on Monday from 5-7 p.m.
Betty was born May 28, 1948 to Sydney "Bo" Peterson and Margaret Jho Harmon Peterson. She entered into rest Sunday, April 17th at her home following a lengthy illness. Betty was a 1966 graduate of Homer High School and 1970 graduate of La Tech with a degree in Speech Therapy. She retired from the Webster Parish School systems, having taught Speech Therapy for over 33 years. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; also a sister, Margaret Ann Peterson Wyble.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Billy Ray Frye; one daughter, Ashleigh Frye Synco and husband, John; one sister, Linda Joyce Peterson; two grandchildren, Sutton and Landrey Synco, all of Homer; niece, Monique Foti and husband, Ryan and a nephew, Michael Moorman and wife, Crystal.
