Donald Daugherty, age 80 of Petros passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at The Life Care Center of Morgan County.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the American Federation of State and County Municipal Employees (AFSCME).

He was retired from Brushy Mountain State Prison with 33 years service. He was a member of Petros Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Black Diamond Lodge #625, Sunrise Chapter #365. 

Donald was a Bi-vocational Preacher who pastored at Mineral Springs Baptist, Fellowship Baptist, Coal Hill Baptist, Free Communion and Grave Hill Baptist Churches.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Darlene Bingham, Mother Bessie Beene Daugherty Duncan, Father Leonard Daugherty, Step-Father E.R. Duncan, Brothers Lemond  Daugherty, Lonald Daugherty, J.W.Daugherty and Leonard  Daugherty Jr., One Sister Mary Lola Lowe.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Jennie Lee Brown Daugherty Sons David Daugherty and wife Barbara of Lebanon, TN, Darrell Daugherty and wife Judy of Coalfield and Donald Daugherty Jr. of Petros Daughters Debbie Sweat and husband Tim and Donna Jerden and husband Steve all of Wartburg. Brothers: Lester and Conley Daugherty Step Brother Bennie Duncan Half Brothers Jan, Mark, Steve and Tim Daugherty Half Sister: Helen Ford 19 Grandchildren 23 Great Grandchildren and A host of Family and Friends

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg.

Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM with Dr. Jim West officiating. Interment will be in the Old Petros Cemetery, Petros, Tennessee.
