Elizabeth Sweet was born November 14, 1713 at East Greenwich, Kent County, Rhode Island to William and Thankful Hamilton Sweet. She married Peter Wells III December 11, 1733 at East Greenwich and their children were: Thomas, Dorcas, Dinah who's name was later changed to Elizabeth, Caleb, Benjamin, Peter IV and Silas. There was another Elizabeth Sweet, daughter of Richard Sweet, living in the area at the same time. She also married a Peter Wells. This has caused much confusion over the years.
