James Howard (Jim) Cregar, age 68, passed away on April 5, 2016, at home with his loving wife, Barb, by his side in Destin, Florida, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer.
Born in Rushville, Indiana, September 8, 1947, to the late James L. Cregar, Jr. and Madonna Warner Cregar, he married Barbara Tully, June 11, 1966.
Graduate of Jefferson High School, Jefferson, Wisconsin. Jim enjoyed a long and successful career in industrial sales which allowed him to make homes in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and as far away as Marbach, Germany, before finally landing in Destin, Florida. Jim recently retired as Regional Sales Manager with International Thermal Systems, LLC, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved to travel throughout the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. He was an accomplished boater and spent as much time as possible around the water. Jim was an exceptional youth sports coach, avid sports fan, and lifelong supporter of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.
Survived by wife Barbara Cregar; daughter Kelly (Todd Ginkel) Cregar, Minnetonka, Minnesota; son Christopher (Marie) Cregar, Ann Arbor, Michigan; son David (Julie) Adams, Madison, Wisconsin; three grandchildren: Lindsay (Nelson Fox) Cregar, Grace Cregar, and Dylan Cregar; two step-grandchildren: Jase Ginkel and Jaron Ginkel; two siblings: Michael (Iris) Cregar, Dwight, Illinois; Susan (Tony) Lohman, Rushville, Indiana. Also survived by many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and good friends.
Special thanks to Emerald Coast Hospice and Peoples Home Health for their loving and dedicated care; also thanks to dear friends and family members for their love and support during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held in Jim's honor at the Sandpiper Cove Beach Pavilion, 775 Gulf Shore Drive, Destin, Florida, on Sunday, April 24, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Casual attire is encouraged. Memorial will be held at the Sandpiper Cove Event Center in the case of inclement weather.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the (www.cancer.org) or Special Olympics Michigan Area 20 (8600 M52, Manchester, MI 48158) would be appreciated by the family.
