Evelyn was born on September 12, 1925 in Newton, daughter of the late Ruben and Olga (Waack) Groelle. She attended Valley View Grade School, Newton, and received her GED from Lakeshore Technical College. On September 9, 1944 she married William Sieracki in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2007. Evelyn was employed as a waitress at Stock’s Dinner Club for 19 years. She previously was a member of St. John’s Altar Circle and volunteered at the Manitowoc Senior Center after her retirement. Evelyn was known for her woven rugs and wood crafts which she enjoyed doing with her husband. Many of us can recall that famous German potato salad which she was so well known for. Evelyn was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Barbara Sieracki, Newton, Connie & Jake Henry, Steamboat Springs, CO; one son and two daughters-in-law: Alan & Nancy Sieracki, Newton, Roxanne Sieracki, Henderson, NV; four grandchildren: Heather Maharoff, Henderson, NV., Justin (Cari) Sieracki, Peshtigo, Eric Sieracki, Newton, Zeke Henry, Steamboat Springs, CO.; two great grandchildren: Jonah & Lydia; a sister: Laurain Borgwardt, Newton; and her pet Shih Tzu, Gracie. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a son: David Sieracki and a brother-in-law: Harold Borgwardt.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Sunday, April 17, 2016 at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Service will be Pastor Judine Duerwaechter with burial at St. Casimir Cemetery, Northeim, at a later date.
