Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 1999, at St.
John's United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service
will be Rev. Robert Meyer with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
He was born October 21, 1904, in the town of Newton, son of the late
Herman and Fredricka Kasten Groelle Sr. Ruben attended Valley View
School in Newton. On May 24, 1924, he married the former Olga Waack at
St. John's Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. She preceded him in death on
June 9, 1998. Ruben was an original descendant of the Groelle family
that homesteaded in the Newton area. The couple owned and operated a
farm in the town of Newton until 1994. Ruben was also employed at
Weyerhauser Company for 20 years and Stock's Manufacturing at Newton.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and William
Sieracki, Laurain and Harold Borgwardt, all of Newton; six
grandchildren, David (Roxanne) Sieracki, Henderson, Nev., Barbara
Sieracki, Steamboat Springs, Colo., Nancy (John) Anderson, Yelm, Wash.,
Chris Borgwardt, Manitowoc; ten great-grandchildren; one niece, along
with other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by
one brother, Herman Groelle Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. John's United
Church of Christ from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 11
a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
