Chester Eugene Burris, 90, passed away January 26, 2003. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was the founder of Dixie Textile & Supply Company.

Mr. Burris had a love of his church, Park Lake Presbyterian Church, and was also a member of Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church. He was a past Rotarian and a 32 degree Mason.

He is survived by his wife Florence; his sons, Chester Burris, Jr. and wife Becky and Raymond Burris and his wife Sandra. Mr. Burris was preceded in death by his sons, Douglas and Kenneth Burris. He is also survived by grandchildren, Allyson Carter and family, Tina Smith and family, Bonnie Pena and family, Todd Burris and family, Wesley Burris, Steven Burris, Michele Burris; and 7 great-grandchildren. Also, his nephews James Moore and family and Dan Moore and niece, Beverly Puccio; five great nieces and nephews and his sisters-in-love, Beverly Moore and Peggy Tryon.

Memorial services for Mr. Burris will be held Tuesday, 4 PM at Park Lake Presbyterian Church. Visitation hours will be held Monday 6-8 PM at Carey Hand Garden Chapel Home for funerals, 600 E. Wilkinson St., Orlando, 407-898-7881. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Comforter or to the Building Fund of Park Lake Presbyterian Church.
