Margie Burnice Neal, age 87 of Hardin, passed away at her residence on April 8, 2016. Margie was born June 20, 1928 in Baytown, Texas.

She was the daughter of the late George Washington Golden and Lavada Lee Hicks Golden. Margie and her three sisters were all known as the “Golden Girls”. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Nursing School at Lee College Nursing School. As an LVN, she was a passionate care-giver working in homes and hospitals, mostly as a private duty nurse. God and family was the highest priority in her life. As a member of Hardin United Pentecostal Church for forty plus years, she served the church as food coordinator for events and funerals. She loved sewing, gardening, cooking and spoiling her fur babies Lady and Lucky. She was known for her amazing pies. Home on “Neal’s Hill” was her favorite place to be.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of forty-four years Wayne Neal, brother; Jack Golden and sisters; Evelyn Barber and Leona Reed.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters; Theresa (Terri) Wilkerson Baker and husband Jim of Houston, TX, Laura (Kathy) Wilkerson Radel of Hardin, TX. Step-sons; Gregory Neal of Pasadena, TX, and Mark Neal and wife Leigh Ann of Hardin TX, Step-daughters; Kathy Green and husband John of Old River, TX and Nancy Neal of Baytown, TX, Sister; Ruth Allen of Crosby and Sister-in-law; Lucy Golden of Northshore, TX. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
