TUSCALOOSA Sue Bridges, age 72, of Tuscaloosa, died July 1, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Memory Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Smith, Dr. Ken Cheek, and Joe Tubbs officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Chapel Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew McKinley; mother, Ada McKinley Jernigan; brother, Mickey McKinley; and sons, Mickey and Ronnie Bridges.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, L.E. Bridges.
Mrs. Bridges was born in Monroeville, Ala. in 1940 and was raised in Monroeville. She married her husband, L.E. Bridges, in 1960. She had two sons, Mickey and Ronnie Bridges, who are now deceased. Her family moved to Tuscaloosa in 1970 and has resided here since. She was a member of South Highlands Baptist Church until 2002 and was an active member at Northridge Baptist Church since then.
Pallbearers will be Bill Bridges, Larry Salter, Gary Salter, Rickey Salter, and Chris Bridges.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Northridge Baptist Church, nurses and staff of TSICU at DCH, Dr. Arti Pandey, Dr. Hemstreet and Jeremey, the Carl Guin family, the Jermone Weather family, and her beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, Dot and Buddy Bridges and Gerald and Dianne Bridges.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Northridge Baptist Church or to a favorite charity.
