Imogene Williams Wells for born March 12, 1930 in Love Valley near Lebanon, Oklahoma to the only child to Alfred Allen Williams and Sallie Lorene Brownlee Williams.
Imogene was raised in Comanche and Ardmore area and spent a summer in Montana that she loved and spoke of often. She was a graduate of Ardmore High School. Imogene met, dated, and married Ruben Bruce Wills on December 24, 1950 at the Presbyterian Church on Third Avenue in Ardmore. They spent 54 years together.
They shared four children; Ethel Blackwood, Rubin A. Wells, Bruce A. Wells, and Deana Faulkner. Imogene and bruce had four children of their own but Ronnie Fryer, Kacie Nichols, and Michelle Dorer graced their lives and brought them joy while living in their home for a while. Imogene was the much loved mother-in-law to Bobby Blackwood, Cindy Wells, and Jon Faulkner and was a favored aunt to many nieces and nephews. Imogene was blessed with her grandchildren Jeremy Blackwood, Dustin Wells, Sonya Stevahn, Bradley Blackwood, Jake Wells, Dusti Creecy, Logan Faulkner, and Coleton Faulkner and many great grandchildren whom she loved.
Imogene was a person with many interests. She loved reading, doing crafts, worked as a telephone operator, laundry delivery driver and babysitting to many kiddos she loved. She Taught her children to be strong, independent, freethinking people who love her dearly and to stand for what they believe. She loved playing dominoes and any type of card game with her children and Bruce’s brothers and sisters.
Imogene was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and a friend to many. She joined her parents and her beloved Bruce in heaven on April 10, 2016. Imogene’s grandsons and great grandsons, Jeremy Blackwood, Dustin Wells, Bradley Blackwood, Jake Wells, Colton Faulkner, and Tyler Stevahn, will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roy Fountain officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest cemetery.
