Mr. Charles Roland Wells, 83, died Saturday afternoon (April 9, 2016) at the Bacon County Hospital following a short illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Ware County and retired salesman with Murray Cookie Company. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Wells was a son of the late Roland Robert Wells and Annie Grace Sweat Wells. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Wilson, Edna Meintzer, Delores Barrs.

He is survived by his wife, Vernell Jewell Wells of Waycross; three daughters, Janice Wells Bennett (Hilton) of Waycross, Sharon Wells Booth of Waycross, and Kimberly Wells Hammond (Steve) of Macon; a son, Chuck J. Wells of Waycross; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (April 12, 2016) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Kettle Creek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 6 until 8 o'clock.
