Frances Lorene Brownlee Crowell, of Grandview, Texas, passed away peacefully at the Brookdale Senior Living in Lakeway, Texas on February 20, 2016, just minutes before her 98th birthday. Lorene lived her life to the fullest. She loved writing poetry, working puzzles, playing bingo, painting, singing, storytelling, and cooking. She was known for her homemade cobblers. Quality time with family and friends gave her the most joy.
She was born to the late Elmer Edgar and Minnie Myrtle Brownlee on February 21, 1918 in Finley, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life Burnett Crowell, affectionately referred to as Shug, at the young age of 16 and enjoyed nearly 75 years of marriage before his passing.
Her pride and joy was being called Nana by her two grandchildren. Lorene was also a great-grandmother to three precious children, whom she spoke on the phone to each morning at 8:20, and many nieces and nephews that loved her dearly, also survives her.
Living joyfully for her personal savior, Jesus Christ, Lorene was an example to all.
