Sue A. Cooper (Nee Murray), age 69, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox.

Survived by her daughter, Valerie Vorreyer of Manhattan and her son, Wade (Eva) Cooper of Lansing, her grandchildren, Robert, Edwin, and Lorenzo, her brother Daniel (Laura) Murray, her former husband, Edwin Cooper of Manhattan, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Gerard and Merna Murray and her nephew, Robert Marsh.

Sue was born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident of Manhattan. She was a graduate of Lincoln-Way Central High School, class of '64 and College of St. Francis, class of '68. Sue went on to get her master's degree in education from Illinois State University and taught for 41 years, most of her career at Anna McDonald Grade School in Manhattan.

She enjoyed playing the piano for many weddings, funerals, and school functions. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was an active member in the Manhattan Community. Sue loved teaching, she touched many lives throughout her life, her children shared her with countless other children and after retiring in 2009, her favorite place to be was with them and her grandchildren.

Funeral service for Sue will be 9:00 A.M., Saturday, October 24, 2015 from Forsythe Gould Funeral Home in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church for 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial.

Visitation will be Friday from 2-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Interment, [Mount] St. Patrick Cemetery, Wilton Center.
