Resident's Rites Held March 13
Funeral services for Ollie Rodgers, 78, were conducted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hereford last Saturday, March 13, with Bishop Mark Brown of the church officiating.
Burial was in Friona Cemetery under the direction of Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rogers passed away March 11 at Prairie Acres Nursing Home of natural causes.
She was born March 17, 1914, in Belton, and moved to Friona in 1963 from Dimmitt. She married Charles Jay Rodgers, November 17, 1934 in San Saba, Texas. He died April 28, 1959.
Survivors include four sons, Clifton Rodgers of Lovngton, N.M., Bobby Rodgers and Gary Rodgers of Friona, and Darvis Rodgers of Mesa, Arizona; two daughters, Sue Isberg of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Joyce Dickson of Friona and one sister, Maudie Canada of Huntsville. Fifteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were Pat Parker, Gerald Witkowski, Chick Burney, Audie Freerman, Garth Thomas and Garth Lee Thomas.
