Todd Alan Thompson passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 6, 2016, in his Bellville home surrounded by his family. He was 52.

He was born May 20, 1963 in Mansfield to parents Kenneth H. and Joan (Miller) Thompson. After he graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1981, he worked for the city of Mansfield until going on to work for General Motors for 23 years.

An avid outdoors man, Todd enjoyed turkey, coon, and deer hunting, and spent a good majority of his time doing so. He was also very proud and protective over his Harley. Many rides were taken to Lake Erie, Poker Runs, and one trip to Sturgis, which will never be forgotten.

Even though Todd appeared as having a gruff exterior he truly was a softy at heart. The love he had for his children was unmistakably grand, and he would never miss out on one of their events. Spare time would be spent watching ESPN or the hunting channel and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Browns. Todd’s friends were also a very important part of his life and he would do anything for them, whether it be dropping what he was doing to help or creating an “ambiance” with tiki torches and drinks.

He is survived by his loving wife Susan (White) Thompson of Bellville, whom he married in 1998; children Megan Thompson, Kayla Thompson and Cody Thompson; mother Joan Thompson; sister Cyndi (Harry) Collins; his second mother who treated him like a son Marie (Ralph) Rose; father and mother-in-law Dean and Sue White; brother-in-law Billy White and sister-in-law Kerry Thompson; nieces and nephews Nathaniel and Madelyn White, Aaron (Amber) Thompson, and Stephanie (Patrick) Burkhart; special friends who are like brothers, Joel (Amanda) Chambers and Mico (Beth) Castelvetere, and beloved dog Casey.

Todd was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth H.; his brother Michael L. Thompson; his sister Deborah Thompson, and his grandparents.

His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. A memorial service honoring his life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday with an hour prior of calling. Pastor Tony Pingitore will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. In honor of Todd, his family requests that guests come in casual attire.
