There is some discrepancy as to who exactly Samuel's first wife was. Some say he first married in about 1787 to Lucrecia Stanley. Others say he first married in 1792 to Martha Ellis. While I believe there is some connection between Samuel Anderson & Lucrecia Stanley, I also believe the vital info associated with Lucrecia—b.1772 Hanover, VA; d.1814 Wilkes, NC—is really for Martha. And will be listing this as such. More research needs to be done to find out who truly was Samuel's first wife.
