William Butler, 51, of 1006 N. Twelfth St., was pronounced dead at 9:55 p.m. June 23, 1950 on arrival at St. John's hospital.

Mr. Butler came to Springfield in 1928 and had been an employee of the Sangamo Electric Co. since that time.

He was born in Louisville, Ky.

He was a veteran of World War I.

He was a member of the Sangamo 15 Year club and the Third Presbyterian church.

Mr. Butler had retired for the evening when he was found by a member of his family apparently dead in his bed. Death was apparently due to a heart attack.

Surviving are his wife, Bertha; mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Stoll, Louisville, Ky.; one son, William, Houston, Tex.; one daughter, Patricia, Springfield; one brother, Charles, Springfield; two half-brothers, Fred and Lewis Stoll; two half-sister, Mrs. Thelma Weis and Mrs. Josephine Kelly, all of Louisville, Ky.

Services were at Bisch Memorial Home.

Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
