Gerald I. Anderson, age 85, of Olney, passed away at 7:45 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 5-7 PM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral service will be Friday, April 8 at 10 AM in the chapel of Thrasher Family Funeral in Olney. Burial will be at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Claremont. Gary Wachtel will be officiating.

Gerald was born on November 11, 1930 in Rutledge, IL, the son of Floyd and Katie (Myers) Anderson. He later married Pearl Foerster on November 23, 1949 in Olney. She survives.

He was a farmer for many years and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

Gerald is survived by his wife Pearl Anderson of Olney; 2 daughters, Kathy Hegland and husband Randy of Divernon, IL and Karen Whalen of Newton; sister, Juanita Long of Griffith, IN; 3 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Katie Anderson and 2 brothers Bob and Neil Anderson.
