~In 1848, Otis & Hiram A Webb (Otis's brother) chartered the bark, "Carib of Boston," & loaded her with an assorted cargo of merchandise for California. They were successful,
~Otis acquiring considerable property in California. There is a street in San Francisco called Webb Street named for Otis & Hiram Webb.
