Ms. Lucy was a graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School in Augusta, Georgia. Ms. Lucy traveled all over the country before settling in Columbia, South Carolina to work and raise a family. She retired from the United States Government after 27 years of service as the Head Cook for the Fort Jackson Officer’s Club located on post. Ms. Lucy loved to travel, dance, cook and spend time with family and friends. Her joyful love of life, family and friends was rivaled only by her unending willingness to help others.
The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
