Rites Held for Noah Chauvin, 48
Funeral services for Noah Chauvin, 48, Abbeville area farmer, were conducted at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic church in Abbeville.
Mr. Chauvin died at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Palms hospital in Abbeville. Burial was in the New Catholic Cemetery at Abbeville with the Moss funeral home in charge.
Mr. Chauvin was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post in Abbeville.
Survivors include his wife, the former Evelyn Vine; his mother, Mrs. Victorian Chauvin of Abbeville; two sisters, Mrs. Maurice Moss of Abbeville and Mrs. Noah Prejean of Leroy; and two brothers, Yennis Chauvin of Abbeville and Sidney Chauvin of Kaplan.
Pallbearers were Yennis and Sidney Chauvin, Lurby Pontiff, John Griffin, Charles Mouton and Billy Decuir.
