Actress. Born Constance Vera Stevens, she began her career in theatrical musicals on the London, England stage. She made her motion picture debut in "School for Scandal" (1930) and went on to star in such British films as "Green for Danger" (1946) and "The Mark of Cain" (1947). In 1951 RKO Studios offered her a long-term contract, but she turned down the chance to work in Hollywood and retired from films to marry English Lord Dominick Browne. Her last movie role was in "Escape Route" (1952).
