Mrs. Beulah Emma Altman Hammonds, 82 of Thomasville passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Brookstone Retirement Center in Lexington.

Beulah was born October 16, 1933 to the late Leroy Altman and Sallie Grainger Altman. Beulah worked many years at Thomasville Furniture Industries, and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of True Church of God. She enjoyed doing yard work, and also going to Biscuitville and Terry House to eat and gather with friends.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Spurgeon Hammonds who passed away July 30, 2010; William and Beulah were married November 11, 1948, also a brother Earl Altman, a sister, Jewel Brown, and one grandchild, William Henry Hammonds.

Surviving are three sons; Henry Waldo Hammonds and wife Linda of Thomasville, Jesse Leroy Hammonds and wife Barbara of Thomasville, and Francis Wayne Hammonds and wife Joan of Denton; two sisters; Ilene Nobles of Thomasville, and Ruby Shelly of South Carolina; she also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday April 5, 2016 at 11:00AM at J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
