Born March 21, 1894 at Cooper, Okla., daughter of Peter and Eva PENNER, she moved with her parents to Fairview in the early years of her life and at the age of 13 was baptized into the South Mennonite church there.
From Fairview, the family moved to a farm in Beaver county near Balko, where she resided until her death.
She was united in marriage on October 7, 1921, to Menno BARTEL and to this union seven children were born. She was preceded in death by three sons, Oris, Howard Max and Willard; her parents, three sisters, Benie PENNER, Hattie BARTEL and Emily PENNER; two brothers, Pete PENNER and Bennie PENNER.
She is survived by her husband, four sons, Bobbie, Van, Pete and Allen; one daughter, Edna Mae of Perryton; three daughters-in-law, Dorothy, Dolores, Eunice of Balko; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Pete GERTZ, Mrs. Henry KARBER, Mrs. George KLEIWER, Mrs. Alex WAHL and a host of relatives and friends.
