Lily is the daughter of Lige Higgins Mitchell and Fannie Lee Russell.

She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1945.

Lily married Gerald Wilcox on April 6-1947 in Carlsbad, NM. Five children were blessed to this union.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, gardening, and playing cards. Lily was very talented at sewing, embroidery and plastic canvas art. She was also involved as a 4-H Leader as her children grew up.

Lily was a member of the Eastern Star and Memorial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded by her parents, husband Gerald, sister Daisy Burleson, Sally Catherine Pitts, Rehta Caddell, brothers, S.D. Mitchell, William Mitchell, Walter Mitchell, Louise Mitchell, Edward Mitchell, and Claudie Mitchell.

Sons: Dan (Debra) Wilcox and Charles (Coleen) Wilcox
Daughters: Nancy (John) Conover, Kathy Castro, Sandra (Randy) McIntrye,
Sister-in-laws: Doris Ruppert, Marie (Al) Kuck, Betty (Bill) Jussel.
