After a brief ten-day separation, Lorus Wendall Hand was reunited with his eternal sweetheart of forty years, LaJuana.

Wendall was born in Salt Lake City, the son of Lorus Taylor and Ruby Cole Hand. He grew up in New York City. He attended the University of Utah. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

He married Edith Toussaint, had two children, Lois (Randy) Palmer, and Stephen (Caralee) Hand; and later divorced.

He married LaJuana Godfrey in 1975, and acted as a father to her children: Darwin Gary Roush (Maxine), Penni Crowther (Rick), Patti Zierse (Bill), and Diane Johnson (Bob); twenty-three grandchildren, and 111 great-grandchildren. Wendall is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Wendall was a stalwart member of the LDS Church. He held numerous callings over the years and served several missions, including Switzerland, Munich, and a welfare and temple mission.

He loved music. He played the piano, violin, and harmonica. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and doing genealogy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Hunter Village Ward Chapel, 3450 South 6400 West, West Valley City. Friends may call prior to the services at the churchfrom 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 3401 South Highland Drive (1450 East), East Millcreek.
