JACKSON, Shelby "Buddy" Age 77, of Somerville, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Hospice of Butler and Warren County. He was born May 3, 1938 in Winchester, KY to Shelby and Rachel (Burgis) Jackson. He was a machine tender for Sorg Paper Company for 32 years, retiring in 2000. He served our country in the US Navy during peacetime with an honorable discharge. Shelby was a member of Beechwood Church of God on State Route 122. Shelby is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Wise) Jackson, children, Kimberly Sue (Mike) Moystner of Centerville, IN, William "Bill" Daniel (Wanda Gay) Jackson of Kingston, TN, Venida "Nida" Louise (Gary Deron) Thompson of West Elkton; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers and 5 sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters and 1 brother. Visitation will be held Monday, April 4, 2016 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at Baker-Stevens-Parramore Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Agee officiating. Interment will be at Fairmound Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Butler and Warren County, 5940 Long Meadow Drive, Franklin, OH 45005.Published in Journal-News on Apr. 1, 2016.
