Born October 22, 1916 in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Ira Reed Banister and Ella Todd Day. Mrs. Skelton was a 1938 graduate of Anderson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Anderson Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Mrs. Skelton was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson, where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class and the Burriss Hill Mission Action Group.
Mrs. Skelton was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, J. Harold Skelton, her parents, and her brothers, Lalon Banister and Louie Banister.
Receiving of friends will take place at The McDougald Funeral Home, on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a service of remembrance and celebration conducted by Dr. James Thomason beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the New Silver Brook Cemetery.
